Design Patterns provide common templates for solving the same family of problems in a similar way. When I take in consideration my experience with Ruby, OO, Design Patterns (little), programming, etc, I can infer many things that happen in samples of Ruby. In “Design Patterns in Ruby” Russ Olsen sets out to cover two distinct goals. Recommended if you're new to object-oriented design, or if you want to learn about some Ruby-specific design patterns, or if your coworkers quote heavily from this book. Last week, I wrote about the Singleton pattern in Ruby much like Rusty Divine did about Java/C#/.NET. In short: This book is good, go buy it. I don't do a lot of ruby development, but Russ is a great author and does an excellent job at explaining common patterns.
